Israeli forces invade Syria’s Quneitra countryside with tanks, military vehicles in latest incursion
Israeli forces have invaded an area in the suburbs of the city of Quneitra in southern Syria with tanks and military vehicles, in their latest reported incursion into Syrian territory.
According to Lebanon’s al-Mayadeen network, the forces entered the Tal Abu Qubais area in the Quneitra countryside on Monday morning with two tanks and a number of military personnel carriers.
The incursion came after Israeli forces recently entered the village of Ain Ziwan in the province of the same name with five military vehicles and established a checkpoint inside the village.
Israeli attacks reported in Dara’a
Israeli attacks have also affected the southern Syrian province of Dara’a, which has been targeted multiple times so far.
The nature of the incursions targeting Dara’a has been more extensive, involving artillery strikes, ground attacks, and intensive warplane flights.
The Israeli regime has expanded its illegal presence in parts of southern Syria, including the strategically important Jabal al-Sheikh (Mount Hermon) highlands, since December 2024. That month saw Takfiri terrorists overthrow the government of the Arab country’s President Bashar al-Assad amid aerial backup being provided by Tel Aviv.

The regime has exploited the security vacuum that followed the fall of Assad’s government by carrying out attacks against Syria’s defensive installations and equipment.
Ever since the overthrow, Syria’s new United States-backed officials have repeatedly floated the notion of “normalizing” the country’s relations with Tel Aviv.
