Iran foils US-Israeli sabotage plot, dismantles four terrorist cells in southeast

Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence has announced the successful dismantling of four organized operational cells belonging to Takfiri terrorist groups linked to hostile American and Zionist intelligence services.

The sweeping security operation in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan resulted in the arrest of 15 terrorists and the seizure of multiple caches of weapons, thwarting a major foreign-engineered plot to destabilize the region.

According to a statement released by the Ministry, the country’s intelligence operatives identified and intercepted the imported terror teams as they attempted to infiltrate the country.

The coordinated raids were carried out across several key counties, including Zahedan, Chabahar, Iranshahr, Khash, Taftan, Nikshahr, and Qasr-e Qand.

Security forces confiscated a significant number of Kalashnikov assault rifles and related ammunition, neutralizing the threat before the operatives could execute any disruptive actions.

The Intelligence Ministry said these "American-Zionist mercenaries" had been tasked with a comprehensive sabotage campaign.

Their primary objective was to compromise the security of the province and launch targeted strikes against vital economic, public service, and judicial infrastructure.

By striking these civilian and state nodes, the foreign-backed operatives hoped to incite public unrest, disrupt daily life, and undermine the government's development and security initiatives in the strategically important border region.

This latest victory follows a similar successful ambush in the first half of July, where Iranian intelligence forces dismantled four other terrorist teams in the province.

Two terrorists were killed and 10 arrested in that earlier operation, further crippling the operational capacity of foreign-backed insurgent groups in the area.

The Ministry noted that given the persistent efforts by foreign enemies to manufacture insecurity in Sistan and Baluchestan, comprehensive intelligence investigations are currently underway.

Sistan and Baluchestan, which shares a lengthy border with Pakistan and Afghanistan, has historically been a focal point for foreign intelligence agencies attempting to infiltrate Iran.

Takfiri and separatist factions, frequently funded, armed, and directed by agencies such as Israel's Mossad and the CIA, often attempt to exploit the rugged terrain to carry out assassinations, bombings, and infrastructure sabotage.

However, in recent years, the Islamic Republic has vastly fortified its border security and enhanced its domestic intelligence-gathering capabilities.

The Ministry of Intelligence and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Intelligence Organization have repeatedly preempted and neutralized these threats, ensuring that foreign attempts to weaponize border regions fail to gain a foothold.
