Ukraine peace on the horizon?
Diplomatic efforts to bring an end to the war in Ukraine are accelerating as US-led peace talks are underway. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has traveled to Paris and held talks with President Emmanuel Macron. Zelensky said the main focus was on security guarantees to insure peace becomes truly durable.
Donald Trump’s 28-point peace plan was seen as a good place to start negotiations by the Russians, but not seen as favorable by the Ukrainians and their European allies.
The divide between the Americans and the Europeans continues as the Europeans say Washington is abandoning Ukraine and the US says the war is a done deal, Russia has won.
