US economy is not doing as well as Trump is claiming

The US economy is showing strains of weakness, so much so that it may be heading into a recession.

Newly released data show the unemployment rate climbed to 4.4 percent in September, its highest level since October 2021, signaling a labor market losing momentum.

The unemployment rate for college graduates is rising fast: one in 4 is unemployed, the highest since 2014. Meanwhile, job growth in the past three months is the lowest since 2010.
