Iran’s Abdoli makes history with first-ever swimming gold at Islamic Solidarity Games

Iranian swimmer Samiyar Abdoli made history on Sunday night by clinching Iran’s first-ever gold medal in swimming at the Islamic Solidarity Games.

Competing in the men’s 50-meter freestyle final at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Olympic Complex in Riyadh, Abdoli delivered a stunning performance, clocking in at 22.44 seconds to secure the top podium spot.

His victory came on the second day of swimming events at the sixth edition of the Games underway in the Saudi capital of Riyadh.

This was the first gold for the Iranian delegation at this year’s competition.
