Trump meets Lee amid investment-tariff deadlock

South Korean President Lee Jae-myung hosted his US counterpart Donald Trump on the sidelines of the APEC summit in Gyeongju.

While the APEC grouping is supposed to focus on economic cooperation, Trump's recent protectionist tariff measures have challenged that ideal. But the US and South Korea did conclude a deal, which could see South Korea eventually invest $350 billion in US industries with tariffs to be reduced.
