Iranian para-athletes ended their campaign at the 2025 World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi on Sunday with an impressive haul of 15 medals, including nine golds.
The team finished third overall in the medal standings, marking the best-ever result in the country’s history at the prestigious para-athletic event.
Sadegh Beyt-Siyah capped off Team Iran’s remarkable run on the final day, claiming his first world gold medal in the F41 javelin throw with a record-breaking throw of 48.86 meters.
Iran’s final medal tally included nine golds, two silvers, and four bronzes, cementing its place among the world’s top para-athletics countries – many of them Olympic medalists.
Gold medals were claimed by Amirhossein Alipour, Elham Salehi, Saeed Afrooz, Hassan Bajelvand, Ali Asghar Javanmardi, Ali Bazyar, Yasin Khosravi, Mehran Nakouei-Majd, and Sadegh Beyt-Siyah.

Mehdi Olad and Hajar Safarzadeh earned silver medals, while Emanollah Papi, Elham Salehi, Zeinab Moradi, and Erfan Bandari brought home bronze, contributing to the team’s triumphant campaign.
Nakouei-Majd emerged as one of the standout performers, shattering the world record in the F34 shot put with an impressive throw of 12.27 meters, securing gold and his world champion title.
He celebrated his victory with a military salute and a prostration of gratitude.

Khosravi also broke the world record, clinching shot put gold for Team Iran in the F56 category with a powerful throw of 13.82 meters.

Competing in the F35 shot put, Ali Asghar Javanmardi delivered a series of strong throws — 16.24m, 15.75m, 15.14m, 15.65m, 17.17m, and 15.87m — to secure gold with his best mark of 17.17 meters.
Hassan Bajelvand won gold in the men’s discus throw and dedicated his medal to martyred Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) aerospace commander Amir Ali Hajizadeh.
