Iranian inventor Amirhossein Kamran Karkaj has won a gold medal at the US Silicon Valley International Invention Festival in San Francisco.

The 21-year-old inventor received a gold medal for his invention of a smart firefighting helmet featuring a heads-up display and an AI-based vital signs analysis system.

In an interview with IRNA on Saturday, the young inventor said the helmet, designed with unique features to enhance firefighter safety, utilizes advanced technology to provide real-time monitoring of vital signs and display environmental data in critical situations.

He pointed out that the helmet is equipped with alert sensors, a display, a camera, and artificial intelligence. Through a control center, it pinpoints the exact location of the firefighter, enabling colleagues to quickly assist in case of an emergency.

Karkaj said that earlier versions of smart helmets with built-in GPS had been produced in five different European countries, including France and Switzerland.

However, these versions lacked several additional features, including a rear-view camera, alert sensors, and AI technology that he integrated into the award-winning helmet he designed.
