US blocks Palestinian president from UN assembly

In a move sparking sharp condemnation, the United States has revoked the visas of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and senior officials of the Palestinian Authority, preventing them from attending the upcoming United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Washington cites Palestinian efforts at the International Court of Justice and their push for international recognition as justification.
