Supporters of President Donald Trump are demanding answers from the US government after an Israeli official accused in a Nevada child sex sting was allowed to leave the country shortly after posting bail.
Tom Artiom Alexandrovich who serves as acting head of data & AI at Israel’s cyber directorate and works directly under prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu was arrested in Las Vegas during an operation targeting child sex predators.
Alexandrovich and others were charged with luring a child with a computer for a sexual act, a felony offense in Nevada carrying a sentence of up to 20 years in prison. He was in Las Vegas for a professional conference and held no diplomatic status or immunity.
Despite the charges, Alexandrovich was allowed to leave the United States and return to Israeli-occupied territories within days, without trial, bail conditions, or public explanation.
The case has triggered sharp criticism from prominent right-wing figures in the US, many aligned with the pro-Trump “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) movement.
“[United States Department of Justice] should file federal charges and demand immediate extradition,” pro-MAGA podcaster Jack Posobiec said.
Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has recently voiced criticism of Israel over its military actions in Gaza, also condemned the incident.
“We need to be the America that allows war-torn children to come here for life-saving surgeries and the America that never releases a foreign child sex predator that our great LEOs caught,” Greene said.
“But in this circumstance, those war-torn children are from Gaza, and this foreign child sex predator is from Israel and works directly for Netanyahu.”
She added, “Would it be considered antisemitic to bring back Netanyahu’s cyber security executive to court and sentence him to the maximum penalty allowed by law?”
Israeli news outlet Ynet reported that Alexandrovich was “briefly detained for questioning… before his release and return to Israel,” without mentioning the felony charges or the US child sex sting.
The US State Department denied any government interference to secure Alexandrovich’s release.
However, North Star News reported that officers involved in the operation confirmed that the Trump administration, at Israel’s request, overrode US law enforcement to ensure Alexandrovich’s swift return.
The US attorney general who authorized Alexandrovich’s release was identified as Sigal Chattah, an Israeli-born official who has made statements in support of Israel’s actions in Gaza.
