Sudanese pound collapses while markets spiral out of control

Sudan’s struggle today isn’t just on the battlefield, it’s in the markets. As the war grinds on, the economy is collapsing, and for millions, the fight to afford food has become part of daily survival.
The Sudanese pound has reportedly dropped to SDG 3,100 per US dollar on the black market, while official banks list it at SDG 2,100. Inflation has soared to 113%, with food prices up more than 85% in a single year.
