Nakba, 77 years on
There have been protests in many parts of the world including by Palestinians in Gaza and the occupied West Bank to commemorate the Nakba, or “catastrophe”, of their dispossession in 1948.
This year marks the 77th anniversary of the Nakba, during which an estimated 750,000 Palestinians fled or were expelled from their ancestral lands. Yet the struggle is far from over.
