Israel has killed at least 38 Palestinians, including children, in airstrikes on several areas across the besieged Gaza Strip.
On Wednesday, Israeli warplanes bombed a residential house in the Shujaiyya neighborhood, the eastern suburb of Gaza City. Nearly 30 Palestinians were killed.
Dozens were also wounded in the attack on a multi-floor building.
Local health authorities said nine other Palestinians were killed in separate Israeli military strikes on other parts of the besieged Palestinian territory, raising Wednesday’s death toll to 38.
Israeli warplanes also bombed the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.
Some media reports said at least 80 Palestinians have gone missing.
The Israeli military said on Wednesday that warplanes had conducted airstrikes on 45 targets across Gaza in 24 hours.
The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas censured the massacre in Shujaiyya.
Hamas held the United States responsible for the Israeli campaign of genocide in Gaza.
“These ongoing massacres against our defenseless people, with full support from the complicit US administration, represent a shameful stain on the international community, which remains helpless and inactive in the face of one of the most horrific episodes of mass killing and organised genocide.”
Hamas also censured mere statements by certain Arab countries with respect to the existing circumstances in Gaza.
“Heads of Arab and Islamic countries must take their historical and humanitarian responsibilities seriously and act urgently to apply pressure on the occupation and its backers in Washington to immediately halt the aggression, lift the siege, and hold the Zionist war criminals accountable for their actions.”
Hamas also called for the severance of relations with Israel on a global scale.
“We call on countries that still maintain relations with the criminal Zionist occupation to sever those ties and close the embassies of this Nazi-like entity, in solidarity with our innocent Palestinian people who are enduring a brutal Zionist genocide.”
“These brutal crimes, being perpetrated before the eyes of the world against innocent, defenseless civilians with the aim of extermination and sadistic revenge, will not go unnoticed and will not become time-barred.”
“History will record all those who remained silent and complicit with the Zionist war criminals who committed them.”
Health facilities in Gaza are in a devastating situation. Gaza’s health ministry has said that almost 60,000 children are at risk of serious health implications due to malnutrition.
Israel resumed its campaign of genocide in Gaza on March 18 after a two-month truce and sent troops back into the blockaded Palestinian region. In the three weeks since, the health ministry in Gaza says Israeli military strikes have killed nearly 1,500 Palestinians.
Since late March, Israel has ordered Gazans out of territory around the edges of the strip to create what it describes as a security zone; residents fear the aim is to permanently depopulate swathes of territory.
Netanyahu has vowed to intensify the attacks as part of a broader plan aligned with US President Donald Trump’s proposal to forcibly displace Palestinians from Gaza.
