The chief executive officer of Iran Electronics Industries (IEI) says the country’s defense and military power is entirely indigenous.
Speaking to IRNA on Sunday, Brigadier General Amir Rastegari said Iran is currently able to manufacture defensive equipment in various fields.
"In the defense sectors, over 90% of the equipment and systems available to our powerful Armed Forces have been completely designed and manufactured by the industrial organizations of the Defense Ministry and their collaborating networks,” he added.
He noted that the IEI has designed and produced defense requirements in space, air, sea, land and submarine areas.
“To date, more than 7,000 systems have been produced in various sectors and fields and provided to the Armed Forces,” the official explained.
He noted that the country is in possession of completely modern and domestically-manufactured vessels.
Iranian experts have succeeded in designing equipment, including telecommunications, radar, electronic warfare, fire control and sonar systems, Rastegari said.
He further added that the domestically designed and manufactured Dena destroyer joined Iran's Navy in 2022 and has so far traveled around the world, covering more than 55,000 kilometers across the five oceans.
"This shows the country's defense industry power which is capable of producing equipment that can safely navigate in harsh oceanic conditions,” the official emphasized.
He reiterated that Iran’s defense industry is advancing despite sanctions and acts of obstruction by the global arrogance.
Relying on its capabilities and know-how, Iran’s defense industries is capable of giving precise response to the enemies from afar in line with various international treaties, he said.
Iranian military experts and engineers have in recent years made remarkable breakthroughs in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient.
Iranian officials have repeatedly underscored that the country will not hesitate to strengthen its military capabilities, including its missile power, which are entirely meant for defense, and that Iran’s defense capabilities will be never open for negotiations.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has repeatedly called for efforts to maintain and boost Iran’s defense capabilities, decrying enemies for questioning the country’s missile program.
