The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned Israel’s resumption of military aggression against the Gaza Strip, saying it holds the occupying regime fully responsible for the ongoing crimes against the Palestinians.
The OIC made the remarks in a statement on Tuesday, after hundreds of Palestinians, including women and children, were massacred in renewed Israeli attacks on Gaza earlier in the day.
The organization further noted that Israel’s new assaults constitute a continuation of war crimes and genocide against the Palestinian people.
The OIC further called on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to assume its responsibility by bringing an immediate end to the Israeli aggression, opening crossings, ensuring delivery of humanitarian aid to all parts of Gaza, standing up against attempts to displace the Palestinian people and annex their land, and providing international protection for them.
Over 400 Palestinians, including women and children, were killed on Tuesday after the occupying regime resumed its genocidal war on Gaza, undermining the fragile two-month-long truce agreement with the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas.
The surprise airstrikes, which drew a wave of condemnations worldwide, have raised fears of fully reigniting the 17-month-long genocidal onslaught on Gaza.
The White House says Israel consulted with US President Donald Trump's administration before launching its overnight wave of strikes in Gaza.
Hamas has held the United States responsible for Israel’s renewed aggression against defenseless civilians in Gaza, saying the occupying Israeli entity and its backers must be held accountable for crimes in the blockaded territory.
