The Yemeni Armed Forces have announced successful downing of an American MQ-9 Reaper drone after it violated the country’s airspace and conducted hostile missions over the western province of al-Hudaydah.
The development that was announced on Tuesday marked the fifteenth occasion, when such aircraft was being shot down by Yemen’s air defenses since the beginning of the country’s Battle of the Promised Victory and the Sacred Jihad.
The forces commenced the battle in October 2023 after the Israeli regime launched a heavily-US-backed war of genocide against the Gaza Strip and escalated its Washington-supported deadly aggression towards Lebanon.
Operations conducted as part of the struggle have also been meant to defend Yemen in the face of intensified deadly aggression by the regime, United States, and the UK against the Arab Peninsula nation’s defensive and civilian infrastructures.
The statement emphasized that the Yemeni forces’ air defense systems were fully operational and prepared to confront any foreign aggression.
It reaffirmed the Yemeni troops’ commitment to the Palestinian people, alongside their allied fighters in Gaza and Lebanon, as part of a unified front against Israeli and American aggression.
In addition to countering aerial threats, the Yemeni Armed Forces highlighted their readiness to monitor and track hostile movements in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea, asserting that they were fully prepared to respond to any unwelcome developments.
The forces were apparently referring to the United States’ retaining and constantly beefing up a heavy offensive naval presence in the waters off Yemen’s coastline.
The buildup has seen Washington deploying aircraft carriers and warships there, despite being forced to withdraw several carriers amid intense Yemeni retaliation.
Recently, either the forces or senior Yemeni officials have also warned both the Israeli regime and the US against further escalation against the Palestinian, Lebanese, and Yemeni territories.
In addition, Sana’a has called on the international community to hold Tel Aviv and Washington accountable for their hostile actions, while reiterating warnings that continued aggression on their part would have severe and far-reaching consequences.
