The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has strongly condemned Israel's evacuation order for the Indonesian Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip.

Hamas said in a statement on Tuesday night that forced evacuation of patients and medical staff at gunpoint is an extension of Israel’s war crimes, and its policy of ethnic cleansing and forced displacement of Palestinians.

“The Israeli army’s forced evacuation of medical staff, patients and displaced persons in the Indonesian Hospital at gunpoint came as part of the war crimes, ethnic cleansing and forced displacement operations that it is carrying out in the northern Gaza Strip,” Hamas said in a statement issued on Tuesday night.

It added that the regime systematically targets hospitals to put them out of service and destroy all aspects of life in Gaza.

Hamas urged the international community to end its silence over Israel’s crimes.

“The international community must break its silence and unjustified helplessness in the face of the crimes of the fascist occupation, especially in light of the unprecedented violations of all laws of war, including the need to protect civilian facilities and hospitals,” it added.

On Tuesday, Israeli troops forced patients and medical staff out of the Indonesian hospital, making them walk to another hospital miles away in Gaza City.

All three major hospitals in the northern territory area are out of service, an area that has been under an intense Israeli military offensive for nearly three months, according to the ministry.

The Indonesian Hospital is one of Gaza’s few hospitals that are still partially functioning.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) condemned attacks on hospitals in the North Gaza governorate in recent days.

OCHA said in a statement that they are deeply concerned by reports that the Israeli military entered the Indonesian Hospital in North Gaza and forced its evacuation.

“In recent days, attacks have also been reported in and around Al Awda and Kamal Adwan hospitals, the two other facilities that are still minimally functioning in North Gaza,” said OCHA.

The Gaza Ministry of Health said on Tuesday the Israeli military has stepped up its attacks on hospitals in northern Gaza, calling for "urgent protection" of medical personnel and facilities.

The ministry said that Israel has besieged and been “directly” targeting three major hospitals in the area, namely the Indonesian Hospital, Kamal Adwan Hospital, and al-Awda Hospital.

The Israeli army is “forcing the wounded and patients to evacuate the Indonesian Hospital,” it added.

It stressed that the Israeli “bombing is targeting all the departments of the Kamal Adwan Hospital and its surroundings around the clock without stopping.”

Israel launched the war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, after the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas waged the surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Flood against the Israeli regime in response to the occupying entity’s decades-long campaign of bloodletting and devastation against Palestinians.

The regime’s bloody onslaught on Gaza has so far killed at least 45,338 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured another 107,764 individuals, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. Thousands more are also missing and presumed dead under rubble.

The Israeli military has systematically blocked the entry of lifesaving food, medicine, medical supplies, fuel, and tents into the besieged Palestinian territory since October 2023.

The territory's critical infrastructure such as water networks, sanitation facilities and bread mills has all been razed to the ground.
