U.S. biased mediation fails

Despite intense diplomatic efforts, the US-mediated attempts to break a peace between Israel and Hezbollah are facing significant hurdles largely due to perceived biases in the mediation process. Historical alliances, political interests and military support for Israel have led to questions about the impartiality of the US as a neutral mediator. These vices have undermined trust and confidence, making it difficult to achieve a lasting ceasefire. This episode of the Spotlight looks deeper into this process in interview with Leila Hatoum, editor-in-chief of MENA Uncensured and Khaled Barakat, spokesperson of Masar Badil Movement, both from Beirut.
