Israeli forces have arrested several Palestinians and shot dead a young man during separate raids in the West Bank.

The official Palestinian news agency WAFA, citing medical sources, reported that 29-year-old Yahya Daniel Awad, an employee of the al-Khalil Municipality, succumbed to his critical gunshot wounds on Wednesday.

He was shot in the chest by Israeli forces as they stormed the Fawwar refugee camp, located six kilometers southwest of al-Khalil, the previous night.

Israeli troops raided several homes in the camp, triggering confrontations with Palestinian residents by firing sound bombs, teargas canisters and live ammunition.

Several other young men also suffered moderate bullet injuries during skirmishes with Israeli soldiers in the camp.

All the casualties were transferred to Yatta Governmental Hospital in al-Khalil for medical treatment.

Also on Wednesday, Israeli forces raided al-Khalil, and arrested six residents, security sources told Wafa news agency. The military also arrested one man from the southern West Bank town of Idhna.

Six more Palestinians were arrested in the towns of Kafel Haris, Iskaka and Burqin in the Salfit governorate.

Earlier, Israeli forces stormed the villages of Beit Furik and Salem to the east of the city of Nablus, as well as Asira ash-Shamaliya to the north of Nablus, and arrested five Palestinian men.

At least 717 people, including 160 children, have been killed and thousands more injured in Israeli raids and settler attacks across the occupied West Bank since the war on Gaza began.

Since October 7, at least 41,495 Palestinians, most of them women and children, have also been killed in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip during the regime’s genocidal war.
