Authorities in Gaza say the international community must exert pressure on Israel and the United States in order to stop the ongoing campaign of genocide in the besieged Palestinian territory.

“We call on the international community, all international and UN organizations, and all free nations of the world to pressure the Israeli occupation and the US administration to stop the genocide and halt the crimes against humanity committed by the Israeli occupying army against civilians in Gaza,” the media office of Gaza said in a statement on Wednesday.

“We hold the Israeli occupation and the US administration fully responsible for the catastrophic and dangerous consequences of this ongoing and continuous crime, which aims to strangle civilians in Gaza and confine them to areas unfit for human life due to the lack of all basic living conditions.”

Francesca Albanese, the UN special rapporteur on human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories, and other experts say they believe Israel has committed “acts of genocide” in Gaza.

The United States also stands accused of assisting the genocidal acts by arming Israel.

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has already ordered Israel to take steps to prevent genocide in Gaza.

“This crime against humanity, which Israel commits by forcibly displacing civilians, confirms beyond doubt that the occupation is deliberately and systematically strangling civilians in Gaza within a very narrow area that does not exceed one-tenth of the Gaza Strip,” the media office stated.

“Israel excludes the governorates of Gaza and northern Gaza from the so-called safe zones, despite the presence of 700,000 Palestinian civilians there.”

The United Nations humanitarian office recently warned that Israel’s frequent evacuation orders are deteriorating the catastrophic humanitarian situation.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said on Tuesday that the evacuation orders have led to waves of displacement, overcrowding, insecurity, and collapsing infrastructure.
