Hezbollah’s underground missile base message for Israel, West to end Gaza genocide: Analyst

By Alireza Kamandi

Hezbollah’s underground missile network conveys a message to Western leaders to do everything in their power to end the genocidal war on Gaza, according to a military analyst.

In an interview with the Press TV website, Kostas Isihos, former Deputy Minister of National Defense of Greece, said the unveiling of Hezbollah's underground missile sites in southern and central Lebanon sends a powerful message not only to the Israeli political leadership but also to Israeli settlers.

Isihos dismissed the notion held by the Israeli regime that an invasion of Lebanon or an all-out regional war would be akin to a field trip for schoolchildren, saying “Nothing could be further from the truth.”

“I believe this message is also intended for Western leaders, including those in Europe and Washington, urging them to do everything within their power to halt the genocidal war in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories,” Isihos told the Press TV website.

He recalled that Israel’s last invasion of southern Lebanon was so costly that it had to withdraw from the Lebanese territory, warning that the current message is “much stronger.”

“This is not just about a defensive war. If an invasion occurs, an all-out war between Lebanon and Israel is more than likely, and it would bring significant hardship to Israelis. However, it seems that the Israeli military and political leadership does not care about their people,” he asserted.

Isihos further noted that the Israeli regime is aware that global public opinion is not in favor of a regional war, which the regime and its prime minister are pushing for—a move that he described as “political suicide.”

“Hezbollah's military strength is not limited to these underground missile facilities; it also includes well-tested forces that have previously triumphed against Israeli aggressors on Lebanese soil,” he noted.

“I firmly believe that the underground missile facilities in Lebanon send a strong message to Israel, preparing it for the worst should Israel decide to open Pandora's Box.”

Isihos also remarked that a full-scale war against Lebanon would be unacceptable to any civilized nation or people’s movement around the world.

Addressing the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, former chief of Hamas’ political bureau, Isihos described it as an “egregious violation” of international law.

“This is not the first time Israel has murdered a foreign official. It has done so before, in clear defiance of international norms,” he commented.

“Israel shows complete disregard for international law and will continue to do so as long as the rest of the world remains silent or paralyzed in response to these murderous terrorist attacks.”

The former Greek government official concluded by stating that Israeli leaders responsible for the ongoing genocide should be prosecuted by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

“Public opinion in the West opposes Israel’s plan to destroy Palestine and its people. We have witnessed protests in London, Paris, Rome, Athens, Europe, Latin America, North America, and at American universities,” he said.
