Israeli President Isaac Herzog was barred from disembarking the plane in Paris for “40 minutes” due to a security scare.
Herzog and his delegation were ordered by French police to remain onboard the plane upon arrival in Paris due to a security incident on Wednesday as his spokesperson told the Hebrew-language Israel Hayom daily newspaper.
Later on, the Times of Israel, an online Israeli newspaper, quoted Herzog’s spokesperson as saying that the president and his companions were finally allowed to disembark the plane 40 minutes after landing.
“The president and his delegation have now disembarked and resumed the schedule as planned,” the spokesperson said without giving details of the incident.
According to the Walla news site, upon landing, there was a sighting of a suspicious individual on a nearby rooftop.
