Israel has failed to break resolve of Palestinians: Hamas

The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas says Israel’s campaign of death and destruction has failed to break the resolve of the Palestinian people across the besieged Gaza Strip. 

“Gaza on Eid al-Fitr is bleeding, bursting with pain, and suffering destruction. It has remained firm and steadfast for more than 6 months and will not break,” spokesman Abdul-Latif al-Qanu said on Thursday.

The holiday used to be a joyful time in Gaza. But with Israel’s military campaign and famine threatening the besieged territory, Palestinians there feel far from any sense of festivity.

“The massive scale of destruction and devastation in the Gaza Strip only expresses the occupation’s Nazism, fascism, and failure to achieve its goals.”

"The rabid occupation war against our people and the failure of its army and leaders to achieve their goals will remain a shame that will haunt them forever."

The Hamas spokesman said the continuation of the genocidal campaign and using starvation as a weapon of war will not give the Zionist regime an image of victory.

The spokesman said the military wing of Hamas – Qassam Brigades – has forced Israel to end its operations in Khan Younis before achieving its goals.

"The Palestinian resistance smashed the nose of the occupation and struck down its army in the streets and alleys of Gaza, and the Qassam scenes of the Ambush of the Righteous in the Al-Zana area of Khan Younis is one evidence."

The Qassam Brigades has dismissed Israel’s claims that it had finished resistance forces in those areas from where it had withdrawn.

Qanu also said the Israeli regime must be prosecuted and held accountable for killing thousands of civilians and destroying infrastructure. "The criminal occupation disregarded all international laws and conventions or human values, which require prosecuting its fascist entity and holding it accountable for the genocidal war."

"The extent of the crimes committed by the occupation in the Al-Shifa Complex and its surroundings is very brutal and disastrous, and searches have continued for 10 days to recover hundreds of torn bodies buried in the sand."

Elsewhere in his remarks, the spokesman said Israel during truce talks was not acceding to a military withdrawal and allowing Palestinians to return home.

“The key to any agreement with the occupation is based on a permanent ceasefire, and our prominent priority in the ongoing negotiating process is the return of the displaced without restrictions and a complete withdrawal of forces from the Gaza Strip, without which it will not take place.”
