The war in Ukraine
A prospect for peace seems to be remote as Russia and Ukraine have recently intensified strikes against one another.
Western countries look more intent on flooding Ukraine with weapons than facilitating negotiations to end the war. The United States alone has announced its 47th package of military aid to Ukraine which includes modern tanks and widely-banned cluster munitions. This is while Kremlin sees growing friction between Kiev and its western backers with its latest example in a spat between Poland and Ukraine over grain exports.
