On World Health Day, experts describe the health situation in Afghanistan as critical.
Dr. Sadiq says the worsening condintion has affected patients, especially those with rare diseases, adding the situation is further aggravated by multiple factors.
The harsh health situation in Afghanistan affects patients with special diseases way more, patients who have congenital conditions that are too complex to control and impossible to cure. Abdulaziz who has hemophilia tells us more about his condition and his problems.
The declinig trend of the health situation in the country started less than two years ago, when the country’s political landscape wintessed changes and the Taliban took control. Following that, relief International Organizations halted or reduced their activities there.
It is believed that the aid that used to come to Afghanistan is politicized due to the political changes that took place in the country. Still, people and these patients are the ones who are paying the price, sometimes at the cost of their lives.
