Don DeBar: Biden is a product of an elitist political model

US President Joe Biden is “a product of exactly the elitist model promoted by the influential magazine The Atlantic in 2019, according to American journalist Don DeBar.

Commenting to Press TV on Thursday, DeBar said that Professor Raymond J. La Raja, an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Massachusetts, promoted "an elitist, autocratic model of candidate selection in the leadup to the 2020 election that was carried by the authoritative journal of the US-based Atlantic Group at the opening of the primary season."

In his 2019 article, Raja wrote, "Political professionals—insiders such as county and state party chairs, elected officials such as governors and legislative leaders—are uniquely positioned to evaluate whether contenders have the skills, connections, and sense of responsibility to govern capably. Only they can do the brokering and bridge-building to form majorities and shape coalitions, and to ensure that the nominee is acceptable to a broad cross section of party factions. Only they can reduce the element of sheer randomness that plagues today’s primaries, where a stroke of bad luck in a single state can sink a candidacy. The voters need their help."

"This may seem like an argument for elitism over democracy, but the current system is democratic only in form, not in substance. Without professional input, the nominating process is vulnerable to manipulation by plutocrats, celebrities, media figures, and activists. As entertainment, America’s current primary system works pretty well; as a way to vet candidates for the world’s most important and difficult job, it is at best unreliable—and at worst destabilizing, even dangerous,” he added.

DeBar said that “Biden is a product of exactly the elitist model that La Raja espoused in that article in The Atlantic in December, 2019. Biden was not the winner of an open and fair primary process. Instead, he was the choice of a process that was truncated, opaque and obviously rigged, and in those primaries which were allowed to be held, Kamala Harris actually had the least support of all candidates in the group. They even canceled the damned convention so that there was no venue where the party's rank-and-file could be heard, and hid it all behind COVID in doing so. This resulted in the selection of Biden, who is not, by any measure, qualified to hold that office, and Harris, who had demonstrated zero support for her nomination. La Raja's formula thus produced neither a competent, nor a legitimate, president. It was, instead, the choice of an unseen, and unelected, elite.”

Most Republicans still consider Biden’s victory as illegitimate: poll

A new US poll shows that some 7 in 10 Republican voters believe the 2020 US election was stolen from Donald Trump.

A new US poll finds that 71 percent of Republicans still believe Biden’s victory in the November 2020 presidential election was illegitimate, and 22 percent of Republicans opined that the election result was “definitely not legitimate.”

The University of Massachusetts Amherst poll, which showed that only 11 percent of respondents considered Biden's victory "probably illegitimate,” revealed that media outlets and Democratic politicians made no progress over the past year in convincing skeptical Americans that Biden was legitimately elected.

Pulitzer Prize winner American investigative journalist Glenn Greenwald has revealed in a recent article that an axis of the CIA, Big Tech and the DNC-allied wing of the corporate media spread an absolute lie in the weeks before the 2020 presidential election.

“Numerous examples of brute and dangerous censorship have emerged: the destruction by Big Tech monopolies of Parler at the behest of Democratic politicians at the time that it was the most-downloaded app in the country; the banning of the sitting president from social media; and the increasingly explicit threats from elected officials in the majority party of legal and regulatory reprisals in the event that tech platforms do not censor more in accordance with their demands,” Greenwald wrote.

“But the most severe episode of all was the joint campaign — in the weeks before the 2020 election — by the CIA, Big Tech, the liberal wing of the corporate media and the Democratic Party to censor and suppress a series of major reports about then-presidential frontrunner Joe Biden,” he added.
