Over the NBA, Nikola Jokic has made a crucial block at the buzzer to help the Denver Nuggets escape with a 95-94 win against the Houston Rockets.
Jokic scored 11 of his 28 points late in the 2nd quarter as Denver reduced an 8-point deficit to 47-46 before the break. Denver then outscored the Rockets to take a 1-point lead by the end of the 3rd. And in a closely fought 4th quarter Aaron Gordon scored back to back treys with 3 minutes left to give the Nuggets a 95-94 lead before Jokic sealed the win with a fine block at the Buzzer. This was Denver’s 2nd straight win while Houston suffered their 7th defeat in a row.
Meanwhile Joel Embiid tallied 30 points for the Philadelphia 76ers in a 114-105 victory at the Chicago Bulls. The Sixers were up by a single point after a quarter of play and clinched the 2nd frame 35-26 for a 10-point lead at half time.
Chicago cut the gap to 7 at the end of the 3rd but they were unable to maintain the momentum allowing Philadelphia earn their sixth win in a row and give head coach Doc Rivers his 1,000th career victory. There were also wins for the Heat, the Mavericks, the Suns and the Blazers on Saturday night.
