Afghans mark Prophet Muhammad’s birth anniversary

Hundreds of Afghan Muslims gathered at Abul-Fazl Shrine in Kabul and marked the beginning of ‘Islamic Unity Week’ on the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
Religious scholars addressing the gathering said Islam is the religion of peace, justice and acceptance, calling on people not to accept extremism and discrimination.
Participants here consider such Islamic events as a great opportunity for renewing their allegiance to Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). They called for the Islamic brotherhood among Afghan people at time of Daesh terrorist group threats.
On this occasion, people also perform prayers and deliver free food to those in need in honor of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). Some Afghans also hold other religious ceremonies.
This event is held as a symbol of unity among Afghan Muslims, despite recent crises in the country. People here commemorate Prophet Mohammad’s advice on solidarity, peace and justice.
