Recently a large crowd of religious extremists, including members of Pakistans terrorist organizations like Sipah-e-Sahaba, held several consecutive days of rally on the streets of Karachi, chanting anti-Shia slogans and inciting hatred.
The provocation for the recent threatening march was actually the inappropriate comments about the Sunnis respected figures made by a Shia cleric at a recent Muharram gathering in Islamabad which seems to have started a new wave of sectarian violence in Pakistan.
