A group of Iranian actors, musicians and cultural activists have launched a charity workshop that produces face masks and distributes them among the less privileged people to counter coronavirus outbreak.
Even one more face mask matters, says the organizer of this charity mask production workshop, who has mobilized Iranian artists to join the fight against coronavirus outbreak.
The workshop has limited sewing machines but the output is remarkable; over 10,000 masks are produced each day The organizer says this is thanks to the artists' passionate participation in the charity work.
Iran is the 8th worst hit by the coronavirus. The Health Ministry has put the total confirmed cases of COVID-19 at over 74,000. More than 4, 680 people in Iran have so far succumbed to the disease. This as Iran's health sector is still fettered by the US-led sanctions, which block Iran's access to international medical supplies.
But against all the odds, the coronavirus curve in Iran has seen a promising decline in its slope within the past days, which, as put by officials, is a result of close coordination and synergy between people and the government.
