Uruguay have twice come from behind to salvage a draw against tournament guests Japan in Group C.
The invited Asian team, who were hammered 4-0 by defending champions Chile in their opener, hit the front in the 25th minute, thanks to a clinical strike by Koji Miyoshi.
However, the Uruguayans, who'd thrashed Ecuador 4-0 in their 1st game, pulled level 7 minutes later, after a penalty kick by Luis Suarez. Koji doubled his own and his team’s tally on the hour mark, after tapping home a loose ball from close range, but again Uruguay were only behind for 7 minutes, as Jose Maria Gimenez headed-in a corner-kick in the 66th minute.
The stalemate means Uruguay top the table with 4 points, while Japan are 3rd with only a single point.
