248 local councils, 6 mayoral positions, and 8,798 councilor sits were what political parties contested in Englands 2019 local elections.
All registered electors aged 18 and over were entitled to vote yet as it was predicted as low as a third of electorate cast their vote.
Traditionally local elections in Britain are regarded as an important test of public and political opinion; a test which did not bring brilliant results for neither the prime minister nor the opposition leader. They were both technically punished by voters.
