US President Donald Trump insists on a ludicrous and unrealistic project to build a wall on the US-Mexico border, which hits federal employees, says a commentator.
US federal workers and their families have taken to social media to voice their frustration on the ongoing government shutdown that has dragged on for five days so far.
Speaking after a Christmas Day video message on Tuesday, President Trump insisted that the partial shutdown of the federal government would last until his demand for funds to build the border wall was met.
John Steppling, author and commentator, told Press TV on Wednesday that “Trump’s wall is a ludicrous project that has political significance for him, but it is completely unrealistic.”
The duration of the government shutdown “does not matter,” the analyst said, adding what is important is “the people that are suffering are government workers [and] the average Americans are suffering as well.”
