Iranian female sports shooter Mahlagha Jambozorg has won a silver medal at the Olympic Games Training Camp in France.
On Monday, the 24-year-old sportswoman participated at women’s 50-meter rifle 3 positions M2 individual contests in the commune of Volmerange-les-Mines. She racked up 458.6 points to finish as vice champion.
Italian sports shooter Petra Zublasing, 26, accumulated 459.3 points to claim the top position and clinch the gold medal.
Eva Roesken, a contestant from Germany scooped the bronze with 446.9 points.
Earlier in the day, Golnoush Sebghatollahi, another Iranian sports shooter, finished third at the end of women’s 25-meter pistol M1 competitions with a total of 581 points. She bettered Iran’s record by nine points.
Zorana Arunovic and Jasna Sekaric, both from Serbia, won gold and silver medals respectively, having tallied 578 and 575 points.
The Olympic Games Training Camp started on June 9 and will run through June 14.
Dozens of male and female sports shooters from 20 countries, namely the Czech Republic, France, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Italy, Poland and the United States, are taking part in the tournament.
