Bayern Munich win German Cup after beating Dortmund
Bayern Munich have defeated Borussia Dortmund 4-3 in a penalty shootout to win the German Cup in Pep Guardiola's final match in charge of the Bavarians.
It was a typically tense Cup-Final on Saturday-night, with the 2 best teams in Germany unable to break the deadlock after 120 minutes, although Bayern created the better chances throughout the game.
The match went to penalties for the first time since 1999. Dortmund missed 2 of their first 3 efforts, but Roman Burki saved Joshua Kimmich’s penalty to give them a glimmer of Hope. However, Thomas Muller and Douglas Costa converted for Bayern to seal a 4-3 victory on spot-kicks.
