Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has received a group of Iranian Navy commanders and officials in the capital, Tehran.
During the meeting the Leader described the sea as an arena for “powerful confrontation with enemies,” and “effective cooperation with friends,” adding, “Access to the free waters, connection to four corners of the world through the sea and the possibility of defending the country at sea are among advantages of the sea to which people and officials must pay attention.”
Ayatollah Khamenei said attaining a position that would be commensurate with the historical status of the Iranian nation and the Islamic Republic at sea was the big responsibility of the Navy, noting that the Navy must delineate a promising future for the country.
The Leader said “qualified manpower endowed with correct thinking and management,” in addition to “steadfastness, firm resolve, trust in God, and hope in future,” are the most effective elements that can help the Islamic Iran to achieve the great and historical position that would be commensurate with its status.
Ayatollah Khamenei stated that before the Islamic Revolution, “importance, grandeur and sensitivity of the sea” were ignored, but today, the Iranian Navy has made great progress, though it has still a long way to go.
