Leader meets Venezuelan President

1. Leader of the Islamic Revolution says resistance and reliance on popular support is the only way for independent countries to make progress. Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei slammed the arrogant powers’ policies as the greatest plague afflicting humanity. The comments were made in a meeting with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro in Tehran.
2. The Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution says international coalitions which claim to be battling terrorists are not trustworthy. In a meeting with Nigeria's visiting president, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei accused the US and the region's reactionary states of directly assisting Daesh terrorists in Iraq. He also called for closer cooperation among Muslims.
3. Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Iran’s capital Tehran to attend the third summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum. The meeting has brought together 9 heads of state as well as high-ranking delegations from over a dozen countries. G-E-C-F countries account for 42 percent of the global gas output.
4. A Palestinian woman has been gunned down in Jerusalem al-Quds following an alleged stabbing attack. Israeli forces also seriously wounded another Palestinian woman there. Meanwhile, Israel has barred Palestinians from three settlements near al-Quds. 96 Palestinians and 17 Israelis have been killed in the ongoing spate of violence since October 1st.
5. Syrian forces have liberated the besieged town of Maheen in Homs province following two days of intense clashes with the ISIL terrorists. Syrian troops also recaptured the village of Hawareen after inflicting heavy losses on Daesh Takfiris there. They also managed to secure the Christian town of Sadad.
6. Turkish opposition leader Selahattin Demirtash has escaped an assassination attempt unharmed. A spokesman for the People’s Democratic Party said Demirtash’s vehicle came under gunfire in the southeastern city of Diyarbakir. The opposition figure has been criticized by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his ruling AK Party.
7. Turkish forces have tear-gassed and injured several pro-Kurdish lawmakers trying to enter the southeastern town of Nusaybin. The MPs have been on hunger strike since Thursday in a bid to draw attention to the situation in Nusaybin, which has been under a 24-hour curfew for 10 days.
8. Islamophobic hate crimes in the UK have reportedly risen by 300-percent in the week after the Paris attacks. 'Tell Mama', a helpline which records attacks against British Muslims and mosques, has posted 115 racial attacks since November 13. The group says the majority of victims were hijab-wearing women and girls.
