UK charities under investigation for selling personal data

Some charities in UK have come under investigation for selling personal data of their clients.

Some charity centers in UK have sold the personal data of an old man resulting in losing of his thousands of pounds.

The 87-year-old Samuel Rae suffering from dementia says he was bombarded with calls and letters from the charities which sold his personal details to rogue companies.

According to Rae’s family, he has lost 35,000 pounds to scams.

According to his family, the charities continued to call him even after he asked them to stop.

Earlier, an old woman had killed herself after being bombarded with calls from charities. Reports say received more than 267 letters a months and repeat phone calls from charities calling for money.
