Israeli President Reuven Rivlin says the regime has been isolated following the successful conclusion of negotiations between Iran and the P5+1 group of countries over Tehran’s nuclear work.

“We are to a large extent isolated in the world at the moment... I'm not a pessimist but for the first time I see that we are alone,” Rivlin told the Israeli daily Maariv on Thursday.

The Israeli president further warned that Tel Aviv-Washington ties might be frayed because of the rising tension between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Barack Obama over the recent breakthrough in Iran’s nuclear talks.

“I am very worried by the battlefront (that has opened up) between Obama and Netanyahu and by relations between the United States and Israel,” he said.

Tehran and the P5+1 - the US, Russia, China, France, Britain, the US and Germany - finalized the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) over the Iranian nuclear program on July 14.

Rivlin’s remarks came a day after the Israeli premier repeated his allegations against the outcome of Iran’s nuclear talks, claiming it will trigger “a nuclear arms race.”

However, Obama once again defended the agreement on Wednesday, saying the opponents of the nuclear talks are either “ignorant of the Iranian society or just not being straight with the American people.”

The successful conclusion of nuclear talks is viewed by political experts as a major blow to Israel, which has been lobbying intensely to throw a monkey wrench in the diplomatic process.

This is while the international community has praised the outcome of more than a decade diplomatic efforts aimed at closing the Iranian nuclear dossier, with many world leaders saying the historic conclusion of nuclear discussions could help promote peace and cooperation in the region.

Earlier on Thursday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said the entire Middle East and world nations welcome the nuclear agreement except for the Israelis and warmongers in the United States.
