One US security guard has been shot dead and another wounded in a shooting in Maryland, authorities say.
The shooting occurred early Friday near an apartment complex in Capitol Heights, police said.
Police blocked a major road off in the area to conduct more investigation.
Authorities have released few details about the incident.
In a separate shooting incident at two military offices in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on Thursday, five people died, including four Marines and the lone gunman, according to officials.
Investigators were seeking to determine on Thursday night what led 24-year-old Mohammod Youssuf Abdulazeez, identified as the shooter by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, to open fire at the Marines.
